§ 17.40.830. Inspections.

  • A.

    The Director of Planning and Zoning or his or her designee may make inspections of dwellings, dwelling units, rooming units and premises and unimproved property to determine whether the conditions comply with this chapter. The owner or occupant of every dwelling, dwelling unit and rooming unit, or the person in charge of the premises or unimproved property, upon proper identification being made, shall give to the Director or his or her designee free access to the premises and all parts of the premises, at all reasonable times, for the purpose of inspection, examination and survey.

    B.

    If any owner, occupant or other person in charge of a structure or property subject to the provisions of this code refuses, impedes, inhibits, interferes with, restricts or obstructs entry and free access to any part of the structure or premises where inspection authorized by this code is sought, the Director may seek, in a court of competent jurisdiction, an order that the owner, occupant or other person in charge cease and desist with the interference.
