§ 2.48.240. Composition and terms.

    The Maritime Advisory Board consists of eleven members:

    1.

    Eight members representing the maritime industry, three of whom shall employ no more than twenty people;

    2.

    The Aldermen representing wards 1, 7, and 8 which contain the maritime zoning districts, or such persons employed in the maritime business as said Aldermen may designate in writing to the Mayor to serve in lieu of the Aldermen.

    B.

    Members of the Maritime Advisory Board shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by the City Council, for terms of four years, except that the respective terms of the members representing the maritime industry shall be on a staggered basis. A vacancy in the membership on the council shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same manner as an original appointment.

    C.

    In addition to the members of the Maritime Advisory Board as provided for in subsection A of this section, the Mayor, from time to time, may designate City officials and members of other City boards or commissions as the Mayor deems appropriate to participate in the activities of the board in an ex officio, nonvoting capacity.
